REVENUE DEPARTMENT
The Revenue Department is responsible for the administration of land and land revenue in all its dimensions. Its objectives include formulating government land settlement policies, administering land reforms, maintaining land records, and overseeing the processes of land requisition and acquisition. Additionally, the department handles the administration of land revenue and local rates, manages the Assam Survey organization, and organizes relief operations during natural calamities.
DISASTER MANAGEMENT
The Disaster Management Department, as outlined in its bye-laws, aims to undertake relief, restoration, and reconstruction activities to support socio-economic revival in the aftermath of disasters. It also focuses on implementing programmes and schemes to prevent disasters or reduce their impact. The department conducts specific studies to evaluate ongoing measures and recommend improvements. It is empowered to accept funds and donations from various sources including the State and Central Governments, international agencies, NGOs, and private entities. If needed, it may raise loans and is authorized to utilize its funds, directly or through governmental and non-governmental organizations, to fulfill its disaster mitigation objectives.To utilize funds of the society either directly or through Government Departments,State or Central Government undertakings, semi-government Organizations(NGOs), or private philanthropic organizations for achieving its aims and objectives.
